In 2003, Dr. Ifechide Nwabueze (Dr. Ife) graduated from the University of Benin in Nigeria. Her degree in dental surgery helped her to start her career working at the Army hospital in Nigeria as a general dentist, gaining professional experience in pediatrics, orthodontics, oral restoration, surgery, and periodontics. It was during this time at the Army hospital that she discovered her passion for working with children!
In addition to teaching undergraduates at the University Of Detroit Mercy Dental School, Dr. Ife has published numerous articles relating to pediatric dentistry, and pre-veneered stainless steel crowns on primary molars. Dr. Ife is married to John, an accountant, and they have three beautiful young daughters, Ashlea, Kayla, and Emily. She enjoys running, swimming, traveling, and spending time with family.

If your child's original baby teeth or adult teeth have cavities that are too close (or even touching) the nerve tissue, the tooth may require something called pulpal therapy. There are a few options that may happen; a pulpotomy (a removal of the infected nerve tissue that leaves the healthy portion of tissue left), a pulpectomy (removal of the entire nerve tissue from the affected canals), or a root canal.
