Professional Friendly Dentist Around Warren MI
Children's Dental Specialists Is Your #1 Source For Friendly Dentist Services!
In 2003, Dr. Ifechide Nwabueze (Dr. Ife) graduated from the University of Benin in Nigeria. Her degree in dental surgery helped her to start her career working at the Army hospital in Nigeria as a general dentist, gaining professional experience in pediatrics, orthodontics, oral restoration, surgery, and periodontics. It was during this time at the Army hospital that she discovered her passion for working with children!
Dr. Ife earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia in 2010. She went on to complete her Pediatric Dentistry training at the Children's Hospital of Michigan, in Detroit. During her time there, she focused on pediatric clinical and hospital dentistry, including conscious sedation, dental surgery, and emergency dental services. Also, she worked with medically compromised children and those with special needs.
Upon successful completion of her pediatric residency training, Dr. Ife worked as an associate in Dr. Amy Parker's pediatric dental practice and also in Children's Dental Care all in Michigan.

Friendly Dentist Services Serving Warren
The pediatric team at Children's Dental Specialists can help your child if they're having certain oral health or development issues. Our pediatric dentist specializes in treating only children and teens. A pediatric dentist must complete advanced training in children's dentistry during their residency, after dental school, where they become equipped to diagnose and treat a range of complex childhood oral heath problems. From toddlers to teenagers, Children's Dental Specialists can help your child keep a happy, healthy, and confident smile in all the different stages of their life.
More Involved Treatments
We can also take care of acute care, such as children's cavity treatment and tooth restorations. Just as general tooth care can affect eating and speaking, so can chipped or sore teeth, even if they're just baby teeth. Most importantly, if your child is very nervous and needs to undergo sedation dentistry before a procedure, a pediatric specialist will have a better understanding of how the medication will affect your child and be able to carry out the procedure in a calm, caring, and friendly manner. If you need to bring your child in for dental treatment, contact Children's Dental Specialists today. We'll help your child learn about what is happening inside his or her mouth and provide you with best practices to keep that mouth healthy.
Our Friendly Dentist Specializes In These Services And More:
Cleanings and Fluoride Application
We recommend a professional cleaning and fluoride application every 6 months to help protect the teeth and gums. For patients considered high-risk by the dentist for developing dental decay, a cleaning every 3 or 4 months may be considered.
Composite (Tooth Colored) Fillings
A composite (tooth colored) filling is used to repair a tooth that is affected by decay, cracks, or fractures. The decayed or affected portion of the tooth will be removed and then filled with a composite filling. There are many types of filling materials available, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. Composite fillings, along with silver amalgam fillings, are the most widely used today. Because composite fillings are tooth colored, they can be closely matched to the color of existing teeth, and are more aesthetically suited for use in front teeth or the more visible areas of the teeth.
When a tooth is infected or injured, then the tooth may require extraction in order to remedy any infection or pain. This process is usually very simple in children.
There are times when traditional approaches to treatment are insufficient to calm or soothe an extremely apprehensive or fearful child. Children who have experienced an unpleasant visit at the dentist may develop a phobia that can be carried over into adulthood and can lead to neglect of his/her oral health. The good news is that this fear can be reversed and children can actually develop a positive perception of going to the dentist regardless of negative past experiences. Children's Dental Specialists' goal is to provide all our patients warm, compassionate, and quality dental care. We believe that by providing treatment in a gentle and caring manner, we can instill confidence and a lasting positive impression of dental care in your child. We offer many treatment options, including oral sedation and hospital dentistry at Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, tailored to the individual needs of our young patients and parents.
Pulpal Therapy for Primary and Immature Teeth
If your child's baby or adult teeth have large cavities that are either close to or into the nerve tissue, the tooth may require a pulpal therapy. We may either perform the following; a pulpotomy (removal of a portion of the infected nerve tissue leaving healthy tissue), a pulpectomy (removal of entire nerve tissue from canals), or root canal therapy. Symptoms that may require pulpal therapy include:
1. An abscess (or pimple) on the gums
2. Sensitivity to hot and cold
3. Severe toothache pain
4. Sometimes no symptoms are present
5. Swelling and/or tenderness
Your Child's First Visit To Our Friendly Dentist Near Warren
Your child's first visit introduces your child to our caring staff and will help you to understand what you can do as a parent to instill proper oral health habits. The doctor checks for signs of proper development and then counts the teeth. Your child is evaluated and further treatment is planned if necessary. No matter what type of treatment your child needs, we are confident in our services and will make sure that your children have nothing but the best care and attention.
Having a stranger poking around inside the mouth can make an infant or toddler understandably uncomfortable. Our pediatric specialists and assistants can help keep your child calm during this procedure, and they can also explain to you what's happening should you be nervous as well!
Everyone in our office is patient and has a gentle attitude that kids pick up on. Our staff can also accommodate special needs patients and provide excellent care. As your child gets older, our dentists can, and will, provide more education on how to take really good care of teeth.
